Bangalore, Mar 4 (UNI) Following is a Summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hrs today.

Dry weather prevailed over the State.

Maximum temperatures rose at a few places over Interior Karnataka and changed little over Coastal Karnataka. They were above normal at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and were normal over Interior Karnataka.

Bellary recorded the highest maximum temperature of 37.1 deg.

Celsius over the State.

Minimum temperatures rose at most places being appreciably so at a few places over North Interior Karnataka and rose at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. They were normal over the State.

Agumbe recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 9.0 deg.

Celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Tuesday morning: Mainly dry weather may prevail over South Interior Karnataka and dry weather may prevail over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Mainly dry weather may prevail over Mandya, Mysore, Chamarajnagara, Kolar, Kodagu, Bangalore Rural, Bangalore Urban districts and dry weather may prevail over remaining districts of the State.

Local forecast: Partly cloudy. Maximum and Minimum temperature would be around 33 and 21 deg. Celsius respectively.

Valued-added services for BSNL broadband customers on anvil

Gulbarga, Mar 5 (UNI) Public sector BSNL is planning to provide video, cable TV and other value-added services for its broadband connections soon, BSNL District General Manager V Srinivasan said today. Addressing a press conference here, he said BSNL would soon provide 2 MBPS broadband connectivity. UL to offer safety certification to Indian industry

Bangalore, Mar 5 (UNI) With the entry of global majors in the retail sector in the country, the safety standards for electronic and electrical products in India will undergo a sea change, Underwriters Laboratories (UL) President and CEO Keith Williams said today. Cauvery agitation continues in K'taka

Mysore, Mar 5 (UNI) Dharnas, court boycott, hunger strike, motorbike rally and processions marked the protests by farmers and various organisations in the Cauvery basin districts of Mandya, Mysore and Chamarajanagar in Karnataka against the final award of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal, today. In Mandya, advocates boycotted court proceedings and staged a dharna against the verdict.
