10 hurt in group clash

Darbhanga, Mar 4(UNI) At least 10 people were injured in a clash between members of two communities today at Bijli locality in the district.

District magistrate Upendra Sharma said two groups of people indulged in stone pelting and brickbatting after there was a rumour about desecrating a graveyard by members of another community .

Magistrate on duty at the affected locality Sudhir Jha and police sub-inspector Shiv Shankar Ram had been placed under suspension for dereliction of duty, Mr Sharma said.

The matter was under investigation and the injured persons had been admitted to local hospital, he added.

Doodipora probe over, report being submitted to Government soon

27,221 students appear for Plus-2 exam in TN district

Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, Feb 28 (UNI) 27,221 students are appearing for the Plus Two examination at 73 centres in Kancheepuram district , according to District Primary Education Officer K Ramanjuam. Talking to newspersons here, he said the examinations which began today will continue till March 21. 1,948 students were appearing as private candidates, he added. Mr Ramanujam said this year the number of students appearing for the examination had increased to 3221, compared to 24,000 students last year . He said.....
