Peaceful Holi celebrations in J-K

Jammu, Mar 3 (UNI) A peaceful holi -- the festival of colours -- celebrations were witnessed here in Jammu and Kashmir today, as no unfortunate incident was reported for any corner of the state.

The day passed on a peaceful note and people, particularly youths, celebrated holi with all zest and zeal, applying 'gulal' on their near and dear ones.

Many groups were seen riding on motor bikes with faces smeared with colours.

As it was a gazetted holiday, people visited their friends and relatives to extend holi greetings.

Besides, security forces also celebrated holi, the festival symbolising the victory of prahlad over the holika, at their places of postings.

No militancy-related incident was reported from anywhere in the state.
