Over 5.42 lakh pilgrims pay obeisance at Vaishnodevi

Jammu, Mar 3 (UNI) Over 5.42 lakh pilgrims from across the Country have so far visited the holy cave shrine of Vaishnodevi since January this year, registering an increase of over 25,000 pilgrims from last years, an official spokesman said today.

Nearly 9000 to 10000 pilgrims from across the nation are daily reaching at the base camp Katra Town for onward journey to the holy cave shrine of Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine.

Last month as many as 2,46,755 devotees paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine.

A number of pilgrim spots like Shiv Khori, Ransoo, Aghar Jittoo, deva mai, baba Dhansar, Sihar Baba, Sudh Mahadev, dera Baba Banda Bahadur, Sukrala devi, Mansar, bahu fort are also being visited by Vaishnodevi-bound pilgrims, the spokesman said.

Man-eater leopard killed in south Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 3 (UNI) A man-eater leopard was killed by hunters in south Kashmir district of Anantnag, official sources said. They said a group of hunters alongwith wildlife and forest officials laid an ambush in the woods at Matigund in Anantnag district late last night.
