Metal prices fall due to lack of fresh demand

Mumbai, Mar 3 (UNI) Metal prices fell due to lack of fresh demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.

In the Ferrous category, Copper utencil, Brass cutting and Copper heavy dropped by Rs 800, Rs 600 and Rs 500 per quintal respectively on sustained heavy selling pressure.

In the Non-ferrous category, Lead ingot, Copper wire bar and Aluminium ingot slashed by Rs 1,000, Rs 500 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively, due to sluggish demand.

Nickel cathode also eased by Rs 30 on poor demand.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 30,900, Copper utensils - Rs 28,700, Brass utensils - Rs 23,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 24,500 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,900.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 34,000, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,400, Zinc slab Rs 19,000, Lead ingots - Rs 8,200, Tin slab - Rs 682 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,050 (per kg).

Gold, silver decline sharply

Mumbai, Mar 4 (UNI) Spot Silver and Gold declined sharply by Rs 620 per kg and by Rs 235 per ten gm respectively during the week ended March three on the Bombay Bullion Exchange. Silver .999 fineness grade opened to a nine-and-half month high on Monday last at Rs 20,810 per kg on higher advices from domestic industrial users. The white metal recorded a high of Rs 20,810 on February 26 and a low of Rs 19,080 per kg on March.....

RMZ Crop to construct 18 star hotels in three years

Kolkata, Mar 04 (UNI) The Bangalore-based real estate giant and the co-developer of the Rs 450 crores second major IT hub in Kolkata, RMZ Crop will also construct a chain of 18 star hotels in the country by 2010. Sensex 170 points down in opening trade

Mumbai, Mar 5 (UNI) The BSE Sensex today opened softer at 12,716,85 points with a major loss of around 170 from its last close of 12,886.13, on sustained heavy selling pressure by local big operators in view of discoraging global advices.
