Lok Adalt decides 579 cases in HP

Shimla, Mar 3 (UNI) Lok Adalat in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh today decided 579 cases under the Motor Vehicles Act.

Out of a total of 1,499 cases brought before the court, it decided 579 cases, an official release said.

It said the next Lok Adalt would be held here on March 17 in which cases under section 138, Negotiable Instrument Act 1881 and Recovery Suits pretaining to financial institution would be decided.

Kannur, Feb 23 (UNI) The business turnover of the North Malabar Grameen Bank (NMGB), the first Regional Rural Bank (RRB) in India authorised to accept NRE deposits, has surpassed Rs 2,150 crore with deposits of Rs 1,020 crore and advances of Rs 1,130 crore. Six undertrails break escapes from prison

Ranchi, Mar 3 (UNI) Six prisoners escaped from Saraikela jail in Jharkhand's Saraikela Kharsama district today. Police Suprintendent Lakshman Prasad Singh told UNI over telephone that seven undertrails fled from the prison but one among them was arrested. Mr Singh said they ran away when the prison door was opened for them to meet their guests. Search operation has been intensified to nab them, he added. UNI.....

Headless body found

Machilipatnam, Mar 3 (UNI) A headless body was found near Bommidailakodu drain culvert at Ghantasalapalem in Krishna district today. According to police here, G Srinivasa Rao was missing since Monday and his body was found today. The body was sent to the Government General Hospital for post- mortem. Police suspect it was a murder.
