Housewife commits suicide after killing three sons

Bhuj, Mar 3 (UNI) A mother killed her three children by throwing them into a well and then committed suicide by jumping into it in Bhalot village in Bhuj District, Police today said.

Police said the incident occurred on February 27 when the young housewife, reported to be mentally retarded, threw her three sons aged between three and seven and finally herself also jumping into the well.

The bodies of Kankuben Mahadev Chavada (30) her three sons Mahesh (7), Yogesh (5) and Mohan (3) were fished out from the well and cremated by the relatives from both the sides, without informing the police.

However, her husband yesterday filed a complaint of murder.

Police has started the investigation into the matter to unearth the cause of her taking this extreme step, police said.
