Honey bees attack dogs, humans

Gadag, Karnataka, Mar 3 (UNI) Four dogs were stung to death and four persons were injured when honey bees attacked them here today.

Honey bees swarmed the street and stung the dogs and the people.

All the four injured have been admitted to the district hospital.

Usually, honey bees leave their combs on full moon day.

The locals staged a dharna, urging the authorities to remove honey combs. They also staged rasta roko for over an hour.

Hubli, Mar 3 (UNI) In view of high patronisation, the South Western Railway (SWR) has decided to continue the services of Yesvantpur-Jodhpur weekly winter specials for a further period of four months. A SWR release here said today that the weekly special would depart Yesvantpur at 1735 hrs on Sundays and arrive at Jodhpur at 1700 hrs on Tuesdays. In the return direction, it would depart Jodhpur at 0530 hrs on Wednesdays and reach Yesvantpur at 0600 hrs on Fridays,.....

Ban orders for Holi festival

Hubli, Mar 3 (UNI) Prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC have been clamped in certain pockets under two police station limits here as a precautionary measure on March seven in view of Ranga Panchami (Holi) festival. HEIL unit closed in Howrah

Howrah, Mar 15 (UNI) The rail wagon factory of Hindustan Engineering Industries Limited (HEIL) at Santragachi was closed down today following labour dispute. About 1,100 workers were employed at the factory. The factory management alleged that a 'jungle raj' was continuing in the factory by the labourers. According to the workers union, they were not given their salaries for the last two months alleging the management had employed contract labourers in the factory depriving them of their dues. Secretariat sources said Speaker Kiyanilie Peseyie administered the oath to Atomi Zhimomi from Dimapur-I and Kejong Chang from Tuensang Sadar-II, who won the March eight bypolls. Stray dog attacks four children in Mysore

Mysore, Mar 3 (UNI) After two kids were mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs in Bangalore recently, it was the turn of four children from this city to be attacked and injured by a stray dog, this evening. Police said the incident occurred when the children were playing on the road in Sunnadakere. Yunias (seven), Preethi (four), Manoj (eight) and Nanjunda (12) were treated at a private hospital here. Angry residents complained that the stray dogs were frequenting.....
