Holi celebrated with fervour in Meghalaya

Shillong, Mar 3(UNI) Holi, the festival of colours, was celebrated with pomp and gaiety in Meghalaya.

The city wore a colourful look with people celebrating the festival by playing with colours today.

People irrespective of all religious background celebrated the festival with much enthusiasm, sprinkling coloured powder, "abir", and water on the friends.

Earlier, in view of the Holi celebration, East Khasi Hills District Magistrate B Dhar has promulgated section 144 Cr P C prohibiting throwing, spraying and playing of coloured chemicals/ substances/ powders in public places including through fares.

Rehabilitation policy to be announced in two months: Koda

Hazaribagh, Mar 3 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today said the long-awaited policy on rehabilitation of the displaced will be announced within two months. Four extremists surrender

Agartala, Mar 3 (UNI) Two hardcore militants and two collaborators have surrendered to TSR commandant Soumitra Dhar at Jampaijala. Service tax on property rental fully justified: Shome

New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) Advisor to Finance Minister Dr Parthasarthi Shome has justified imposition of service tax on property rental income, meant for commercial use and maintained that dividend distribution tax (DDT) has been kept at marginal rate of 15 per cent to give leverage for administrative expenses. Ordinance to regulate admission in colleges in Orissa
