ENPO observes 'Black Day' over killing of tribals

Kohima, Mar 3 (UNI) The Eastern Nagaland Peoples Organisation (ENPO) today observed 'Black Day' here in protest against the killing of two Konyak tribe boys by the NSCN-IM.

The people from Mon, Tuensang, Kiphire and Longleng districts, residing in Kohima, assembled at the MLA Hostel in the morning and held a rally there.

The rally was presided over by Thingchum Sangtam, president of the Eastern Nagaland Peoples Union, Kohima (ENPUK), where Tongthan, acting president of ENPO and B Tingshem, president Union, Kohima, appealed to the people to shun violence immediately. They hoped that good sense would prevail and the state would be one of the ''most peaceful'' states in the country.

The activists later marched from the MLA Hostel to the official residence of the Chief Minister and submitted a memorandum demanding immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the killing of the innocent boys.

Indian doctor to invest Dh900 mln in healthcentres in UAE

Great India Bustard population declining in Rajasthan

New Delhi, Mar 3 (UNI) The population of the great Indian bustard is declining in its natural habitat in Rajasthan, according to the Ministry of Environment and Forests. The reason for the fall in numbers was biotic pressure and degradation and reduction in natural grassland habitat, the Ministry said.
