Cong MLA summoned to court on Apr 7

Bangalore, Mar 3 (UNI) A local Court today issued summons to Congress MLA from Channapatna C P Yogeswara to appear on April seven in connection with the alleged false information furnished before the Lok Ayukta.

According to a note issued by the Lok Ayukta office here, the Registrar filed a complaint under Section 200 of the Criminal Procedure Code before the Eighth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, who took cognizance of the matter and issued summons.

The Registrar's action followed a direction from the Lok Ayukta after verifying facts relating to a complaint by one Ravindar Beleyur in connection with the false declaration made by the Legislator while declaring his assets and liabilities before the Lok Ayukta.

Journalists stage rasta-roko

Tirupati, Feb 23 (UNI) Journalists of various news papers and electronic media have staged rasta-roko at busy four pillar junction in the temple town today, protesting against the G O 938. Chennai, Mar 3 (UNI) Central Crime Branch (CCB) officials seized pirated VCDs and DVDs of several Tamil movies worth Rs 28 lakh and arrested seven people. CCB Assistant Commissioner Dharmaraj told reporters here today that acting on a tip off, four special teams conducted raids at Burma Bazaar and Vadapalani areas and seized 5500 VCDs and DVDs of Tamil movies including latest films like 'Paruthi Veeran', 'Deepavali' and 'Veyil'. The team also confiscated DVD recording machines and arrested seven people.....

BSF kills smuggler, five others escape to Bangladesh

Shillong, Mar 4 (UNI) BSF Jawans killed an accused smuggler in Meghalaya's Ryngku village, on the Indo-Bangla border, a senior BSF official said here today. Notorious criminal arrested from Gaya

Bettiah, Mar 4 (UNI) A criminal Bhola Yadav was arrested yesterday night from his native place of Jaralpur village under Jogapatty police station of West Champaran district, police today said. Deptuy Superintendent of Police Bettiyah Sanjay Kumar said that five single barrel gun and several cartidges were seized from the possession of the criminal.
