CD case: Deputy Collector suspended

Hoshangabad, MP, Mar 3 (UNI) A deputy collector, posted at the Collectorate here, was suspended today in connection with a case pertaining to an obscene compact disc (CD), official sources said.

Divisional Commissioner B R Naidu issued the order against Mr R L Bhammani. During the suspension, the officer's headquarters will be Rajgarh.

The CD, beamed on television news channels a couple of days back, showed Mr Bhammani indulging in obscene acts with an unidentified woman. An administrative inquiry is underway.

Sheopur, MP, Feb 23 (UNI) Three people died and two others were seriously injured when a jeep collided with a truck in front of the district sessions court premises here, police said today. The accident occurred when the trio were on their way to a hotel. The deceased were identified as Sandhya Gupta (38), Shreya (14) and jeep driver Mashtkin. Mahoba, Mar 3 (UNI) Two illegal arms manufacturing units were unearthed with the arrest of two miscreants in separate incidents here today. A large number of pistols and cartridges were recovered from the spot. Superintendent of Police Gyan Singh said on a tip-off, a raid was conducted at Makarbai village in Karbai area and caught one person red-handed making the illegal weapons. In a separate incident at Manki village, another illegal arms unit was unearthed with the arrest of one person......

Six killed, 12 imjured in accident

Bathinda, Feb 23 (UNI) Six persons were killed and 12 others injured in a collison between a truck and a canter on Barnala GT oad near Rampura Phul in this district last night. All the victim were workers of Surbhi Caterer Patiala who were on way to Patiala when their tanker overturned after being hit from a truck coming from the opposite side, police said. Sagar, MP, Mar 3 (UNI) A case of obstructing government work, and other charges, was registered against 31 people for allegedly assaulting personnel last evening at this district's Gaurjhamar Police Station, misbehaviour, stone-pelting and other damage to property, the police said today. Half-a-dozen personnel were slightly injured. Additional police force has been stationed at Gaurjhamar, about 40 km from here. New train to Kanpur

Bhopal, Feb 23 (UNI) The Valsad-Kanpur Udyogkarmi Express will begin its maiden journey on February 28 and ply once a week -- leaving Valsad on Thursdays and Kanpur on Fridays. The 2943 Down Udyogkarmi Express will leave Valsad at 1940 hrs and reach here at 1045 hrs the following day. The 2944 Up Udyogkarmi Express will leave Kanpur at 0800 hrs on March 2, arrive here at 1600 hrs and reach Valsad at 0745 hrs, a Bhopal Railway Division release said.....
