Biocon CMD exhorts youth to become entrepreneurs

Bangalore, Mar 3 (UNI) Offering a liberal economic policy, India has thrown up boundless opportunities for the youth to become successful entrepreneurs in life, Biocon Chairperson and Managing Director Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw said today.

Delivering the keynote address at the concluding ceremony of the Entrepreneurship Week India, organised by the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) here, she said that unlike in the past, a conducive environment was prevailing in the country for youth to become successful entrepreneurs. Both Union and State Governments provide better amenities, sops and enabling atmosphere to stimulate enterpreneurship and young people must grab the opportunity for making a better career.

Ms Mazumdar-Shaw, narrating her own experience, said becoming an entrepreneur was nothing but facing problems and challenges.

Complimenting the Union Government for launching an Incubation fund for young entrepreneurs, she said those who have innovative ideas and business models could make it big, using the opportunity.

The country had the potential to become the largest economy in the world in the near future and to achieve it, one should adopt entrepreneurial attitude in all spheres of life.

NEN Executive Director Laura Parkin, who also spoke on the occasion, said NEN, a non-profit organisation, had organised E-Week programme in its 260 affiliated educational institutions in 25 cities across the country, with the participation of over 10,000 youths in an array of entrepreneurial activities.

RIACON calls for baseline survey of stray gods

Security alert in J'khand following naxalite strike in Chhattisgarh

Ranchi, Mar 15 (UNI) The Jharkhand government today sounded high alert in the sensitive areas of bordering Chhattisgarh in wake of naxalite strike in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh which killed 54 security personnel today. 3 die in road accident, irate mob torch hospital

Berhampur, Mar 15 (UNI) An irate mob today set ablaze a hospital and ransacked NAC office here following the death of three people including a woman and her child, in a road accident yesterday.
