13 Killed, 47 injured in road accidents in UP

Lucknow, Mar 3 (UNI) At least 13 people were killed and 47 wounded in separate road accidents during last 24 hours in Uttar Pradesh.

Police said an accident occurred on Chibramau area of Kannauj today, where a speeding Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) bus collided head-on with a truck, killing three people on the spot.

The seven injured were rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

In a separate incident, a woman was killed and 10 others severely injured after an overloaded bus overturned under Pihani police station area of Hardoi early today.

Later in Mahoba, a labourer was killed when a tractor overturned at and crushed him under Karbai police station area this morning.

A youth was killed and five others injured after an ill-fated jeep, carrying them, overturned in Itaunja area of the state capital today.

In Saharanpur, four people were killed and 25 others seriously injured after the tractor-trolley, in which they were travelling, rammed into a bus under Fatehpur police station area late last night.

Besides, a middle aged person died in a road accident on Delhi-Lucknow National Highway in Sitapur last night.

In Pratapgarh, jeep and truck collided head-on killing two in Kandhai area of Pratapgarh last night.

Cases have been registered.

Reliance Group pulls out from Super Bazaar bid

New Delhi, Mar 15 (UNI) Reliance Group headed by Mukesh Ambani today withdrew its bid for Super Bazaar located in Cannaught place, following refusal of the Government to suitably amend the existing laws to give the group effective control and management over the bazaar.
