Two sisters drown in rivulet in Porbandar dist

Rajkot, Mar 2 (UNI) Two sisters drowned in a rivulet at Revadra village in Kutiyana Taluka of Porbandar district where they had gone to bathe and wash clothes.

The deceased - Taruben Jadav (12) and her sister Gita (9) - got trapped in the deep waters of the rivulet while bathing yesterday, sources said.

Later local villagers fished out the bodies and sent it for Kutiyana hospital, sources added.

Surendranagar, Mar 3 (UNI) The police today seized Indian made Foreign Liquor (1MFL) and Beer worth about rs two lakh in Surendranagar city and a woman was arrested in this connection. Acting on a tip-off, a police party raided the house in Housing Board in the city and recovered 598 bottles of IMFL and 152 bottles of beer valued at about Rs two lakh from the place. Anand, Mar 3 (UNI) The four-day ''Phaguni Poonam mela'', held at the Ranchhod Mandir at Dakor in Kheda district, concluded peacefully today. Kheda District Collector R R Varsani said the event, which commenced from February 28, passed off peacefully, with over 15 lakh pilgrims taking 'darshan' of the deity during the period.
