South Guj applicants for passports can register online from Mar 13

Surat, Mar 2 (UNI) The Ministry of External Affairs will soon introduce online passport registration facility in six districts of south Gujarat from March 13, sources today said.

All those who want to procure passport from Surat Passport Office can now register their applications online on 'www.passport.nic.in' or 'www.passport.gov.in' from any of their districts, the sources said.

Currently all applicants from south Gujarat districts of Bharuch, Narmada, Dangs, Valsad, Navsari and Surat have to visit Surat Passport Office to collect and submit applications. Now they need not travel upto Surat Passport Office but can register online from any of their districts.

The online passport registration system will be operational from March 13 onwards, they added.

New Delhi, Mar 11 (UNI) Five Sikkim Police personnel were shot dead by their colleague, while one was injured, near Golcha cinema in Daryaganj area here early today. Police Control Room received a call about the incident at around 0530 hrs. The Sikkim police personnel were deployed for security of Dena Bank branch in Daryaganj.
