RJD MP Shahabuddin awarded 2-year imprisonment

Siwan, Mar 2 (UNI) Controversial RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin was today sentenced to two-year imprisonment by a special court in connection with one of the criminal cases related to an attack on the local office of the CPI(ML).

Pronouncing the quantum of punishment special judicial magistrate V V Gupta awarded imprisonment ranging from 1 to 2 years and also slapped a fine on him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

BSF-BDR border talks begin

Senior police officials and DM sentenced for contempt of court

Kolkata, Mar 2 (UNI) Calcutta High Court today sentenced senior police officials, a district magistrate and 14 agitators to six month simple imprisonment for contempt of court related to a High Court Circuit Bench in Jalpaiguri. A two-judge Bench, headed by Acting Chief Justice Bhaskar Bhattacharya, issued the ruling for failure of the police and district administration to comply with the court's earlier order asking to contain the ongoing agitation regarding the Circuit Bench. ICSI hails Budget as growth oriented and for inclusive growth

New Delhi, Feb 28 (UNI) The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) today welcomed the Union Budget 2007-08 terming it as growth-oriented and aiming at inclusive growth.
