Rajasthan assembly adjourned amidst pandemonium

Jaipur, Mar 2 (UNI) The Rajasthan Assembly was adjourned till Monday amid pandemonium on the second day of the Budget session here today.

The ruling and Opposition legislators continued to trade charges against each other over suspension of four MLAs yesterday. After the formalities of House business were over, Speaker Sumitra Singh adjourned it till Monday.

The Question Hour and the debate on Governor Pratibha Patil's address could not start as chaos ruled in the House. The House was adjourned thrice so that legislators could come to an understanding.

But as no consensus could be reached on the issue and shouting continued, the Speaker adjourned the House.

On the first day of the Budget Session, four legislators Amraram of CPI(M), Ranvir Singh Gudha (LJP) and Suresh Meena and Murari Lal Meena (BSP) were suspended after they tried to interrupt the Governor's address.

Today, legislators started trading charges over the issue of the suspended MLAs apologising for their behaviour in the House yesterday. The House proceedings could not start as both ruling and Opposition legislators continued to shout at each other.

The proceedings were adjourned for half an hour first and then twice for one hour each.

HC asks DTC to submit report on modernisation of bus shelters

New Delhi, Mar 13 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today asked the Delhi Transport Corporation(DTC) to explain the details about the expenditure of Rs 85 crore collected from 4500 privates buses to modernise the public bus shelters in the Capital. A division Bench of Justices Swatanter Kumar and H R Malhotra asked the DTC to file an affidavit by Friday stating the expenditure of the money to improve the bus stops. Cold wave in HP despite clear sky

Shimla, Mar 2 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh had today respite from wet conditions after three days of heavy snowfall in the higher altitude areas and widespread rains in the mid and lower hills of the state. Indian, Pak Auditors General discuss cooperation

New Delhi, Mar 13 (UNI) India and Pakistan today agreed to strengthen cooperation between the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) of the two countries in areas of public audit and accounts. Pakistan's Auditor General Mohammed Yunis Khan, currently on a five-day visit o India, met Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Vijayendra Kaul and discussed with him ways to strengthen cooperation between the SAIs of the two countries.
