New CFM56 engine maintenance training centre

New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) CFM International will open its fourth aircraft engine maintenance training school in India.

CFM International is a 50:50 joint venture company between Snecma (SAFRAN Group) and General Electric Company.

''We're excited by the opportunity to bring advanced CFM56 engine maintenance training to India,'' said CFM's vice-president for India Paul-Andre Chevrin.

''Once the facility is fully operational, we'll have the capability of training up to 500 engineers from India and other neighbouring countries in south Asia every year.'' The new training school, which will mirror the facilities already operating in China, France and the United States, will initially provide advanced courses in line maintenance and borescope inspection for CFM56-7B and CFM56-5B engines.

These engines power Boeing 737s and a majority of Airbus A320 series aircraft.

Joint vigil of IMBL only after Centre's nod: MK

Chennai, Mar 13 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today said Sri Lanka's reported proposal for a joint monitoring of the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) with India to prevent attacks on Indian fishermen was possible, only if the Centre gave its nod. Airman cremated with honours

Coimbatore, Mar 13 (UNI) The mortal remains of Airman Ramkumar (21) who died in a fire mishap at the Agra Air Force Station on March 11, was consigned to flames here with military honours. According to Ramkumar's father Shanmugam, his son joined the Air Force a year ago and after training at Sulur Air Force Station, was posted to Agra.
