Nanded Civil surgeon and three others killed in road accident.

Nanded, Maharashtra, Mar 2 (UNI) Civil surgeon of Guru Gobind Singh Government Hospital and three others died on the spot when a jeep in which they were travelling, dashed against a tree at Karegao Phata in Loha taluka, about 40 km from here, early today.

According to Rural police sources, civil surgeon Dr D L Gaikwad (57), was coming to Nanded after attending a meeting in Pune, when the driver lost control of the speedy jeep, dashing it against the tree. Others occupants of the jeep have been identified as Dr Raju Chavan (37), chemist Pandurang Navghare (45) and driver Ashok Jogdand (48), police added.

The police had to face difficulty in bringing out the bodies from the vehicle, as they got badly smashed with the occupants inside. A pal of gloom descended on the government hospital premises following the news. The staff rushed to the accident spot immediately after they received information.

The Loha police have registered a case.

NLFT militant killed in encounter with TSR

Agartala, Mar 2 (UNI) An NLFT militant was killed in a fierce encounter with TSR jawans in Kumarghat under Dhumacherra police station in Tripura yesterday. Official sources today said the TSR jawans acting on a tip off, conducted a search operation at Sajal village. On being challenged, the NLFT extremists fired upon the jawans. Inquiry ordered into ISI agents using public telephones in custody

Guwahati, Mar 2 (UNI) The Asom government today ordered an inquiry into the incident of two undertrial ISI agents being allowed to use public telephone facilities and suspended a sub-inspector of the state police in this connection. The issue was raised in the state Assembly by Leader of the Opposition Brindabon Goswami after Question Hour. The matter came to light after a news channel showed video footage of two undertrial ISI agents using a PCO to make personal calls yesterday.....

SC says higher compensation for land owners as SEZs are commercial
