MUC CCE for boosting Indo-Canadian acedemic relations

New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) With a view to getting a fervour of varied international educational programmes on the home turf and boosting the Indo-Canadian relations, the Malaspina University-College Centre for Canadian Education (MUC CCE) was today opened here to cater to several academic courses available on the campus in Canada to the students here.

The initiative came in recognition of the importance that India played in the long-term objectives of 10,000-student public institution with its main campus in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada.

The MUC CCE--besides poviding Indian students with quality education support services to apply to one of the many certificate, diploma, degree or post-graduate programmes available on the Canada campus--will also help the students to access to relevant on-line programmes available in the university there.

A portal for Indian higher education institutions with an avenue to explore the possibility of institutional and programme linkages will also be povided by the MUC CCE to the students here.

The MUC CCE was inaugurated by MUC Vice-President of Student Services, Dr Patrick Ross and Ms Bronwyn Jenkins-Deas, Dean of International Education.

Ms Jenkins-Deas said: ''It is an exciting opportunity for Malaspina and the region as it serves to participate in the learning opportunities that the office represents.'' Offering a complete four-season of learning opportunities, including spring, summer, fall and winter, for both college and university students, some of the programmes that MUC delivers are MBA/MSC IB dual degree programme, developed in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire in the UK, the post degree diploma in Business Studies, Bachelor Degree in Business, Hospitality among others.

Among others who were present on the occassion were Prof B P Khandelwal, Ex Chairman CBSE And Ex Director NIPA Prof T D Dwivedi, Ex Professor and Head of Department of Statistics from Concordia University, Mr Christophoer Burney, Faculty member from School of Management at Malaspina, delegations from Canadian High Commission led by Mr Ghislian Chaput along with government and education, universities and schools delegates from here.

Two school inspectors suspended for irregularities

New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) Two school Inspectors working in the Education Department of Municipal Corporation of Delhi have been suspended in connection with several irregularities. Prisoner facing noose hangs self

Jaipur, Mar 12 (UNI) A murder convict, facing the death penalty, ended his life by hanging himself in his cell in the Jaipur central jail yesterday. According to jail authorities, Babloo, alias Mubark Hussain (30), was sentenced to death for murdering his wife and four children by a trial court in Nagaur district in April last year. Hussain had reportedly confessed to the crime before the trial court. Subsequently, the Rajasthan High Court and Supreme Court disposed of his appeal.....

BSF-BDR talks progressing on positive note

New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) India and Bangladesh seem to be moving towards easing the tension along their borders to a "greater extent" as they completed two days of talks on a "positive note" on the vexed issue.
