Lok Sabha adjourned till 1200 hrs over Mulayam issue

New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) The Samajwadi Party members in the Lok Sabha today accused the Congress of being responsible for the Supreme Court ordering a CBI inquiry against party president Mulayam Singh Yadav in a disproportionate assets case, and forced the adjournment of the House twice.

Shouting slogan, ''Congress ki saazish nahi chaleygi (Congress' conspiracy will not prevail)'', the members, led by Mr Ram Gopal Yadav, trooped into the well as soon as Speaker Somnath Chatterjee took his chair at 1130 hrs after the first adjournment.

''I request you again and again, this will not be allowed,'' Mr Chatterjee said, and adjourned the House within a minute of its re-assembling.

Earlier, when the House met for the day, the SP members were on their feet with Mr Ram Gopal Yadav saying that the Court's order was part of a ''political conspiracy'' against their party chief and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister.

Mr Chatterjee repeatedly told Mr Yadav that neither the House nor the UPA government had anything to do with the court order and urged the agitated members to allow the Question Hour.

Even though the Speaker assured Mr Yadav that he would allow him to make the statement on the issue at 1200 hrs, the SP members remained adamant and continued slogan-chanting.

They were supported by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) as its members led by Mr Yerran Naidu were also up on their feet, charging the Congress with being behind the court ruling.

Sensing the mood of the House, the Speaker adjourned the House till 1130 hrs within five minutes of its meeting.
