Kerala endorses ADB agreement

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 2 (UNI) The Kerala government today endorsed the ADB agreement that was signed in New Delhi between it and ADB officials.

A special Cabinet meeting gave its approval to the agreement.

The agreement, signed on December 8, 2007 had to be officially ratified before March eight.

The ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) had earlier given the nod for taking a loan from the ADB, which was a bone of contention among LDF partners.

The agreement with the ADB had raised a controversy in the state with Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan denying knowledge of it.

Meanwhile, state Finance Minister T M Thomas Issac and Local Administration Minister Paloli Mohammed Kutty had countered the Chief Minister's statement, saying Mr Achuthanandan was aware of the agreement.

The special Cabinet meeting also discussed the budget allocation.

Charge sheet in disproportionate asset case served on Badal's

Ropar, Mar 13 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, his wife Surinder Kaur and son Sukhbir were today served chargesheet in the Rs 78 crore disproportionate assets case against them by a special court here. Serving the chargesheet, the court adjourned the case for April nine and ten.
