'Iron Maiden' to perform in Bangalore on March 17

Bangalore, Mar 2 (UNI) Rock music lovers of the city can look forward to a gala time when the six-member 'Iron Maiden' band from the United States performs in the 'Iron Maiden Edd-Fest' at Palace Grounds here on March 17.

The masters of metal would enthrall the audience for five hours, with Bruce Dickinson crooning the numbers, Steve Harris bass, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers playing the guitar and Nicko McBrain at the drums.

According to a release here today, it would take a Boeing Airbus 767, with nearly 20 tons of stage gear, equipment, instruments, props and a team of 25-specialist crew, to stage the show.

Reflecting on the band's legendary reputation for their live performance, Dickinson said ''we get a huge blast from playing live and take great pleasure in providing the full metal experience. It's going to be a terrific adventure to play songs from our current album 'A Matter of Life and Death' and a variety of other Maiden favourites to Indian rock lovers. We hope they will remember this experience for the rest of their lives.'' Indian rock band F T N, the winner of India's Campus Rock Idol contest, and Parikrama, one of India's foremost rock bands, would also perform during the occasion.

KERC releases 'Harnessing Captive Power Generation' order

Bangalore, Mar 2 (UNI) Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission has come out with an order on 'Harnessing Captive Power Generation' as per a direction of the National Electricity Policy and Tariff Policy of the Union Government. The salient feature of the order, issued by KERC on February 27, was that it was applicable to all Captive Power Plants in the State, who were willing to supply power of one MW and above to distribution licensees (ESCOMs), according to a release here.....
