IOL Broadband to offer Star, Sony and Zee bouquet

New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) IOL Broadband Ltd is set to offer three main channel bouquets available in India -- Star, OneAlliance (including Sony) and the Zee Turner Bouquet -- totaling to over 60 Premium Pay IPTV channels alongwith 90 Free-to-Air channels.

''With the introduction of commercial services by IOL IPTV on Fibre and ADSL networks, India has joined an Elite club of developed countries like Japan, Korea, the UK and the US where IPTV has been recently introduced,'' IOL Broadband Director A S Oberai said today.

The capital expediture (capex) in IPTV worldwide is in excess of 50 billion dollars, signifying a major shift from traditional media to 21st century interactive IPTV technology, he said.

IOL Broadband, the first company to launch IPTV in India, is deploying IPTV all over the country after integrating proven technology providers.

IOL technology providers have already deployed similar systems for Comcast USA, NTT Japan and Australia, and Fastweb (Italy) to name a few.

''Commercial deployment of IPTV by IOL is eminent,'' a spokesman of the company said in a statement.

IPTV represents a watershed event and a credible option to CAS and DTH, he added.
