Four Maoist couriers arrested

Hyderabad, Mar 2 (UNI) Police today arrested four couriers belonging to the CPI (Maoist) party near Kamepalli village here.

Police said on information, the special party of police arrested the couriers including one person who was very close to Maoist leader Ganesh.

The couriers were allegedly involved in passing information on police activities and their movements to the Maoists. They also recovered maps showing the naxals were planning to blast Mahaboobabad police station.

India ranks very poor in environmental sustainability

New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) India ranks very poor among 146 countries in environmental governance and sustainability, the Government told the Rajya Sabha today. The 2005 Environmental Sustainability Index(ESI) formulated by the Centre for Environmental Law and Policy of Yale University and Centre for International Earth Science Information Network, Columbia University, places India at 101st down the ladder.
