Foq disrupts flight schedules, 20 flights delayed, 20 diverted

New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) Dense fog enveloped the Delhi skyline this morning, plummeting visibility levels and disrupting flight schedules.

About 20 flights, including 16 International ones, were diverted, and 20 others delayed this morning when fog reduced visibility levels, a spokesperson of the Airport Authority of India said.

''Visibility levels this morning plummeted to below 100m .

Consequently, low visibility procedures were put in force at 0207 hrs when the Runway Visual Range touched a low of 75 m.., 20 flights, including 16 international ones, were diverted. Another 20 flights, including both domestic and international, were delayed due to fog,''the spokesperson said.

Visibility levels, however, improved subsequently and, the LVP was terminated at 0920 hrs when the Runway Visual Range improved to 1400 m.

A total of 50 flights were operated during the period of enforecement of LVP, the spokesperson said.

The fog this morning comes after several days of normal visibility in the Capital.

The University in coordination with law enforcing agencies and voluntary organisations has initiated ''internal and external'' steps to check any untoward incident, particularly harassment of women. Court declines to take cognizance of complaint against Dey.

Cuttack, Mar 12 (UNI) A local court here today refused to take cognizance the complaints filed by Sub Collector against Higher Education Minister Samir Dey under section 177 of IPC for furnishing false affidavits during the filing of nomination in 2004 Assembly elections. In his judgment, Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate Srikand Mishra observed that there has been inordinate delay in filing the complaint against Mr Dey and no satisfactory reasons had been cited by the complainant explaining the delay. Mahto murder case to be unravelled soon : DIG

Jamshedpur, Mar 12 (UNI) Deputy Inspector General of Police Ram Lakhan Prasad today said investigation into the assassination of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha(JMM) MP from Jamshedpur Sunil Mahto was progressing in the right direction. Talking to newspersons here, Mr Prasad said police would unravel the mystery of the murder case soon.
