First Mizo woman assumed top-office in Salvation Army

Aizawl, March 2 (UNI) Salvation Army officer Major Lalngaihawmi has umed office as the first Mizo female Chief Secretary in the Salvation Army, which is a church and social organisation.

Ms Lalngaihawmi, also inducted as Chief Secretary of the India, Eastern Territory, replaced Lt Col Rohmingthanga here yesterday.

In the Salvation Army, women play an important role with both single and married women being accepted as leaders of the organisation.

Meanwhile, Presbyterian Church officials here today stated that Mizo pastor and Principal of Aizawl Theological College Reverend Chuanthuanma is crusading against Burmese administration at a time when military junta in Myanmar is trying to stop the spread of Christanity.

Moser Baer kick starts trial run of photovoltaic facility

New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) Moser Baer India Ltd today said its subsidiary Moser Baer Photo Voltaic Ltd (MBPV) has completed final line integration and trials on its initial 40 MW crystalline photovoltaic cell production facility. Major General Nayanar visits Garo hills to meet war veterans

Shillong, Mar 11 (UNI) Major General Vinod Nayanar, GOC 101 Area and Colonel S N Rai, Commandant, Assam Regimental Centre had visited the Garo Hills to meet the war veterans here.
