Fire Broke out in National Chemical Laboratory Pune

Pune, Mar 2 (UNI) Two fire brigade personnel were injured while dousing the fire that broke out in the National Chemical Laboratory (NCL) here this morning.

Fire brigade Divisional Officer Prashant Ranpise told UNI that the fire, which started at 1046 hrs, was brought under total control within an hour as 4 fire fighters and 3 fire vehicles were pressed into service.

The NCL laboratory, where the fire broke out, was completely damaged, however no loss of life has been reported so far, Ranpise said.

As far as damage to the lab is concern, the NCL authority has yet to make the assessment, police said.

While the Police, who are investigating, have not been able to ascertain the actual cause of fire. The NCL top authority has not been able to pinpoint the cause but said that the lab caught fire probably due to some chemical process, Police said.

Imphal, Mar 11 (UNI) The Manipur Assembly Secretariat has urged Tihar Jail authority in New Delhi to allow Thounaojam Shyamkumar, the newly elected MLA of Manipur People's Party (MPP), to take part in the 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly session scheduled to begin from March 16.
