CBI arrests FCI Manager for accepting bribe

New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation today arrested Area Manager of the Food Corporation of India, A Ravinder, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.

The FCI Manager, according to the CBI, had demanded an amount of Rs 3 lakh as bribe for processing and releasing the bills worth Rs 19 lakh.

The CBI, in another case, arrested a superintendent working in the office of Additional Commissioner I T Bulandshahar.

Girish Sharma had also allegedly accepted bribe of Rs 2,000.

SC remands AIIMS illegal appointments case back to Delhi HC

2 killed, 35 injured as tractor-trolley overturns

Ballia, Feb 28 (UNI) At least two persons were killed and 35 others, including 22 women, seriously injured after an overloaded tractor-trolley, carrying them, overturned in this district of Uttar Pradesh today. The ill-fated vehicle overturned under Fefna police station area, killing one passenger on the spot. The injured were admitted to the district hospital, where another wounded succumbed to injuries. The condition of four was still stated to be critical. The deceased were identified as Nand Kumar (30) and Sugreev.....

Industry bodies express disappointment
