Agumbe records lowest temperature 7.2 degree celsius

Bangalore, Mar 2 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.

Dry weather prevailed over the State. Maximum temperatures fell at a few places over North Interior Karnataka and changed little over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. They were above normal at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka and were normal over North Interior Karnataka.

Gulbarga and Koppal recorded the maximum temperature of 36.1 degree celsius over the State.

Minimum temperatures fell at most places being appreciably so at a few places over North Interior Karnataka; fell at a few places over Coastal Karnataka. however rose at a few places over South Interior Karnataka. They were appreciably below normal at most places being markedly so at a few places over North Interior Karnataka; above normal at many places over South Interior Karnataka and were normal over Coastal Karnataka.

Agumbe recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 7.2 degree celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Sunday morning: Dry weather may prevail over the State.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Dry weather may prevail over all the districts of the State.

Forecast for Bangalore: Mainly clear sky. Maximum and Minimum temperature would be around 34 and 20 degree Celsius respectively.

Three GPO employees killed in a hit and run incident

Bangalore, Mar 3 (UNI) Three Postal Department employees were killed in a hit and run incident in the city last night. Police said that eight General Post Office (GPO) employees, who were on night shift, were returning after having dinner, when a car, driven rashly, dashed against them near the CTO Circle. While Vincent died on the spot Srinath and Shivappa Huliyal succumbed to injuries in the Hospital. UNI.....

Capacity building for teachers stressed

Mysore, Mar 3 (UNI) Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Vice-Chancellor Prof V N Rajashekharan Pillai today emphasised the need for embedded technology for the teaching facility to ensure quality higher education for the overall development of the country's economy. Delivering the keynote address at a national conference on quality assurance in open distance learning institutions, organised by the Karnataka State Open University here, he said capacity building was necessary for teachers, right from the kindergarten to college level, and encouragment.....

NCP worker involved in violence, alleges Dr Kadam

Mumbai, Mar 15 (UNI) The infighting between ruling coalition partners, Congress and NCP, was today witnessed on the floor of the legislative council, when Cooperation Minister Patangrao Kadam alleged that an elected NCP worker was involved in beating and attacking nearly 50 people, including women and children, in Sangli district.
