Women appeal to militants to eschew from violence

Imphal, Mar 1(UNI) The Ngarian(Raenghzaeng) Women Society in Churachandpur district has appealed to the militants and the security personnel not to attack the villagers or carry out attacks within the vicinity of any village.

The society alleged that the ambush by unidentified militants on February 24 led to the death of 16 security personnel.

It appealed to all the armed groups not to repeat such attacks in civilian areas or in the periphery of the village.

Meanwhile, police said two militants were nabbed by troops in two different incidents during the past 24 hours.

Another CRPF jawan dies under 'suspicious circumstances' in Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 7 (UNI) A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan died under 'mysterious circumstances' in the Kashmir valley today, a police spokesman said. He said constable Showkeen Singh died under suspicious circumstances in CRPF Camp at Shiraz cinema Khanyar in the down town city early this morning. CRPF jawan commits suicide, another dies mysteriously in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, MAR 7 (UNI) A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) had constable committed suicide and another jawan died under ''mysterious circumstances'' in the Kashmir Valley today. A CRPF spokesman told UNI that head constable Krishen Singh, a resident of Jammu, of 141 CRPF batallion shot himself dead by a weapon of another jawan at Kakpora, Pulwama in south Kashmir this afternoon. He said Singh had joined only yesterday after availing the leave. Singh was not allotted weapon as he was disturbed.....
