Wipro and Microsoft Align to Enhance Outsourcing Services

Mumbai, Mar 1 (UNI) One of India's leading IT major Wipro Infotech and world-leader in the IT segment Microsoft, today announced a path-breaking Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to provide comprehensive IT infrastructure, solutions and services to Wipro's Total Outsourcing Services (TOS) customers.

''The worldwide TOS business is a key focus area of growth for Wipro, and the collaboration will enable Wipro to draw on Microsoft Corp's global technical experience and enhance the offerings in this market,'' the President of Wipro Infotech Suresh Vaswani said.

''The alliance will enable Wipro to build solutions using Microsoft. Operations Manager, SQL Server' 2005, Systems Management Server 2003, Exchange Server 2007 and Windows Server 2003 products for its TOS customers. This MOU evolved from Wipro's work with Microsoft IT-India, an extension of the Microsoft IT team developing mission-critical enterprise applications that support Microsoft's business worldwide, the Chairman of Microsoft India, Ravi Venkatesan here said.

''The relationship will allow Wipro access to Microsoft's best practices in the areas of infrastructure management and deployment of business technologies related to the use of Microsoft Operations Manager and Microsoft Systems Management software. That in turn will enable Wipro to improve the productivity and efficiency of the IT infrastructure operations on behalf of its TOS customers,'' Mr Venkatesan added.

Call money ends lower at 6.00-6.10 pc

Mumbai, Mar 1 (UNI) Interbank call money today closed lower at 6.00-6.10 per cent, compared with the previous day's cloing of 6.10-6.20 per cent, dealers said. Indian bond yields ended lower yesterday as investors expected last month's fuel price cut to reflect in the latest official inflation data, due tomorrow. The yield on the 10-year bond ended at 7.93 per cent, down from the previous close of 7.98 per cent. It had climbed 11 basis points yesterday after.....

UBI ties up with India Post to increase its penetration in Mah
