Three BSP supporters crushed to death by a speeding bus

Lucknow, Mar 1 (UNI) At least three Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP) supporters were killed on the spot and 10 others sustained injuries when a speeding bus crushed them near Ambedkar Maidan, the venue of the BSP rally today.

Police said the deceased were going towards the rally ground when the incident occured.

Two of the deceased belonged to Aligarh while another was a local youth.

The injured have been admitted to the Balrampur hospital here.

Meanwhile in another incident, two children were buried alive when a wall of a house collapsed under Mariyadu police station in the state capital early this morning.

The incident occured during the heavy rains which lashed the area this morning.

NIgerian drug peddler arrested

Pune, Mar 9 (UNI) The Pune rural police has arrested a Nigerian drug peddler in connection with last Sunday's rave party here from where 280 youngsters had been picked up. The Nigerian, Adekunle Suleman Sule (30), was arrested from Aundh locality here last evening and 38 gms of cocaine, valued at around Rs nine lakh, were seized from him, police said today. Snow in Shimla and widespread rains in HP

Shimla, Mar 1 (UNI) Shimla and its adjoining areas experienced another spell of fresh snowfall early today in five years in March, plummeting temperatures and intensifying coldwave conditions in the state. Shimla recorded 30 cm of snow up till 0830 hrs and another seven cm by 1130 hrs today in five years after March 2, 2002 when it recorded 45.9 cm of snow, besides recording 27.6 mm of rain during the past 24 hrs, Shimla Meteorological Office Director Manmohan Singh told.....

Complainant says he gave in to pressure tactics by BJP leaders

Sangli, Maharashtra, Mar 9 (UNI) In a new twist to the issue of a FIR against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, complainant Panchakshar Mahadev Jangam today registered a case against three BJP leaders, including national spokesperson Prakash Jawadekar, for pressuring him to register the complaint. Mr Jangam, in his complaint, stated that BJP Sangli District President Rajaram Garud, BJP leader Neeta Kelkar and Mr Jawadekar had kidnapped him, threatened and forced him to register a complaint against Mr Patil,.....
