TDP to organise stir on insufficient budget allocations

Hyderabad, Mar 1 (UNI) The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) would organise dharnas in Andhra Pradesh on March 5 to protest against the ''insufficient allocations' to the state both in the Railway and Central Budget, party President N Chandrababu Naidu said today.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the party would stage dharnas at all the railway stations and Government offices in all the districts to express their dissatisfaction on allocations.

Alleging that the UPA government was using Membera of Parliament from Andhra Pradesh only to gain support to run the government at the Centre, Mr Naidu said the MPs from the state had failed to get sufficient funds in both the budgets.

During the NDA regime, the TDP MPs achieved the requirements of the state as they used to prepare a list every year before the budget presentation, he pointed out.

Of the nearly Rs 40,000 crore Railway budget, the allocation for the state was meagre Rs four crore and no new projects and trains were announced for the state in the budget, he said.
