Rejecting marriage proposal proves costly for student

Bijapur, Karnataka, Mar 1 (UNI) A spurned love affair cost a nursing college student her life, on the college campus here today.

Police said the young woman, Parveen (29), had turned down a marriage proposal from fellow student Shekarappa Hadapad, hailing from a nearby village. Unable to digest the spurning, an infuriated Hadapad beat her to death with an iron rod.

Hadapad was immediately arrested by the police.
