Physically enabled people protest against Cauvery Tribunal verdict

Hubli, Mar 1 (UNI) Physically handicapped people came together from surrounding districts to protest against Cauvery Water Tribunal's final verdict here today.

They took out a procession on wheel chairs from Indira glass house to Chennamma circle and shouted slogans against the Tribunal saying that it caused injustice to the farmers of Cauvery basin.

No leakage of SSLC question paper: Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 14 (UNI) Kerala Education Minister M A Baby today clarified that there was no leakage of SSLC question paper and the confusion was created due to a printing error on the packets, containing the question papers of Arabic Part-I. In the packets, containing the question papers, the subject was written in English as Arabic Part-II, instead of Arabic Part-I, thus creating a confusion that the question papers of tomorrow's exam had been leaked. KHDC draws up plan to face competition from textile mills

Hubli, Mar 1 (UNI) Karnataka Handloom Development Corporation (KHDC) is bracing to compete with other textile companies through a pilot programme and will also set up a market for itself, according to KHDC Chairman M D Lakshminarayana. Talking to newspersons here today, he said though there was demand for handloom fabric, the corporation was lagging behind due to financial crunch. "It is running under loss of Rs.57 crore. Though the government has given an order for manufacturing of 63 lakh.....

UK Dy HC holds discussion with TN planning commission

Chennai, Mar 14 (UNI) United Kingdom Deputy High Commissioner Mike Connor today held discussions with Tamil Nadu Planning Commission officials and assured UK's new investments in the state during the 11th Five-Year-Plan. On a visit to the State Planning Commission, Mr Connor assured that UK would extend help to the state for achieving higher economic growth and environmental protection, an official release here said. Lorry runs over four people
