Packages rise by 45 pc for IIM Indore passouts

Bhopal, Mar 1 (UNI) The 115 students of the 2007 batch from the Indian Institute of Management Indore received 329 offers, including 12 international ones, from 67 companies -- 29 for the first time -- and the average salary exceeded Rs 12 lakh per annum, an increase of 45 per cent over last year.

Offers came from Brazil, China, Kuwait, Australia and Africa, a statement said.

The companies included McKinsey, Accenture Business Consulting, KPMG, Stern Stewart and Co, Deloitte Consulting, Aptivaa Consulting, Price Waterhouse Coopers, SAP Labs, Lehman Brothers, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, Ocwen Financial, Bank of America, HSBC, Citigroup, Standard Chartered, JP Morgan, State Bank of India, UTI, Yes Bank, Horizon Asset Management, Max New York Life, Barclays Capital, FMCG, Alghanim Industries, Asian Paints, ITC, Reliance, Dabur, Astro MEASAT, Infosys, Oracle ETC, the statement added.

PNB increases rates on schemes

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Punjab National Bank (PNB) today revised its fixed deposit schemes namely 'PNB Mahabachat' and 'PNB tax saver fixed deposit scheme'. Rate of interest in 'PNB Mahabachat' has been raised to 9.5 per cent for the period one year to less than two years and 9.25 per cent for the period two years to less than three years and nine per cent for three years, the Bank said in a statement here. PPD acquires licenses for Ranbaxy's 'Statin'

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Leading contract research organisation PPD Inc has acquired a worldwide license to develop, manufacture and market Ranbaxy's 'statin' for the treatment of dyslipidemia. Under the terms of the agreement, Ranbaxy will receive huge payments after specified clinical events. In the event of approval to market a drug product, the company will be entitled to receive royalties on sales of the drug and sales-based milestones. Afghan delegation of jurists, lawmakers call on Law Minister

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) An eleven-member Afghan delegation comprising prominent jurists and lawmakers, called on Law and Justice Minister H.R. Bhardwaj here today and discussed the legal system in both countries.
