Militants trigger powerful IED in North kashmir

Baramulla, Mar 1 (UNI) Militants made an abortive bid to blow up the headquarter of 15 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) when they triggered a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) this morning in north Kashmir.

Official sources said militants detonated a powerful IED near the headquarter on the Sopore-Bandipora road at village Kemah at 0730 hrs.

The blast was so powerful that its sound was heard in the entire area, the sources said.

Details about any casualties were awaited.

However, a Defence Ministry spokesman said there was no casualty in the blast.

He said a massive hunt has been launched to nab the militants responsible for the blast.

Sources said security forces were searching the area to detect any other IED.

HC allows filling of vacancies by Mah govt

Haryana adds 16 lakh tonne rice to Central pool

Chandigarh, Mar 1 (UNI) The Haryana government has delivered 16.24 lakh tonnes of rice to the Central pool so far this season. Of this, 12.32 lakh tonnes of rice has been delivered by the six government procurement agencies besides the millers have contributed 3.91 lakh tonnes of rice in the Central pool, Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said today. Bharat Shah threats: anticipatory bail plea of three rejected

Mumbai, Mar 9 (UNI) A local court today rejected the anticipatory bail applications of three directors of Royal Palms Private Limited here in connection with the alleged threat calls received by diamond merchant and film financier Bharat Shah.
