Militants trigger IED, kill father, son in J

Srinagar, Mar 1 (UNI) Militants triggered a blast and killed two villagers, a father and son, near 15 Rashitriya Rifles (RR) headquarters in Jammu and Kashmir overnight.

Security forces arrested a Pakistan-based Lashker-e- Toiba (LeT) militant in the valley, official sources said.

An official spokesman said the militants killed a villager Ahmedoo Baksh and his son Mohammad Amin, a released militant of Harkat-Ul-Jehad-Islami (HUJI), by slitting their throats at Millan Shalimar near Kishtwar post office.

The sources said militants detonated a powerful IED near the headquarters on the Sopore-Bandipora road at village Kemah in north Kashmir at 0730 hrs.

A Defence Ministry spokesman said there was no casualty in the blast.

He said a massive hunt has been launched to nab the militants responsible for the blast.

Sources said security forces later conducted a search in the area but militants managed to escape.

The Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested a militant of Pakistan-based Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) alongwith arms and ammunition in south Kashmir.

A police spokesman said police conducted a search operation at Heff in south Kashmir's Pulwama district this morning, resulting in the arrest of a LeT militant Showkat Ahmad Tantray.

Two HM commanders among three killed, four ultras arrested in J

Srinagar, May 12 (UNI) Two Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commanders were among three people killed while four militants were arrested and a large cache of arms and ammunition recovered in Jammu and Kashmir overnight. An official spokesperson said police and security forces launched a joint operation at Tankipora-Tarzoo, Sopore, about 55 km from here in north Kashmir district of Baramulla today. However, when the troops were sealing the area, militants opened fire. The fire was returned.....
