Maruti Feb sales up 53 pc at 62,999 units

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Country's largest car maker Maruti today said it has sold 62,999 vehicles in the month of February, posting an increase of 53 per cent from 41,095 units a year ago.

The company sold 59,095 vehicles in the domestic market in February 2007, up 61.6 per cent from 36,608 units during the corresponding period last year. While, the exports fell 13 per cent to 3,904 units from 4,487 units a year earlier.

Sales were generally restricted during February 2006 due to anticipation of excise duty reduction on cars in the Union Budget for 2006-07, a company statement said.

Meanwhile, Maruti Udyog Limited yesterday said it would raise prices of its vehicles from March 15. It had earlier raised prices by up to 12,000 rupees from February 1.

Bajaj sales slip 2 pc in Feb: expects record volumes in FY07

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Bajaj Auto Ltd today said it expects to close this fiscal with record volumes even as its sales in February registered a two per cent drop. The overall sales dipped to 2,02,212 units from 2,05,776 vehicles in the same month last year due to ''production constraints limited sale of high end Bajaj motorcycles as demand exceeded supply,'' the company said. With anticipated good sales in March, Bajaj expects to close this financial year with record.....

Skoda to revise prices

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) SkodaIndia, premium automobile manufacturer, today said it has decided to revise its vehicle price after the Budget 2007-08. ''We have been reviewing the price implications with the recent budget impact. A reduction upto Rs 24,000 is expected across various models with effect from March 1,'' company's Managing Director Karsten Bogun said. The company also achieved sales of 644 units in February 2007. BMW, Bajaj Allianz in motor insurance pact

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Auto major BMW India and Bajaj Allianz General Insurance today entered into an cooperation agreement for offering motor insurance to customers across the country. BMW customers will now avail a range of insurance products from BMW Financial Services offered by Bajaj Allianz. ''The products and services offered will be a part of BMW Financial Services,'' BMW India President Peter Kronschnabl said. The financial services will be offered to customers through the BMW dealership network.....
