Major fire at plastic unit

Kochi, Mar 1 (UNI) A major fire broke out at a plastic reprocessing unit damaging property worth lakhs in Aluva near here.

According to the District Fire Official, the fire broke out at Sahala Polymers at 1815 hrs.

Firetenders doused the flames after one hour. However, there were no reports of casualties.

The cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained, the official added.

Large areas of wildlife parks under encroachment

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) A large area of various national parks, including the Kaziranga National Park of Asom, is under encroachment, the Government told the Rajya Sabha today. Government considering setting up environment courts

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Admitting that there were delays in the disposal of environment-related cases, the Government today said it was actively considering setting up environment courts as recommended by the Law Commission.
