Khajuraho Fest: Mohiniattam enthrals spectators

Bhopal, Mar 1 (UNI) Kerala's Mohiniattam enthralled spectators on the fourth evening of the Khajuraho Dance Festival that began in that world-renowned tourist destination on February 25, official sources said.

Neena Prasad presented Ganesh Stuti and concluded her performance with Ashtapadi from Jayadeva's 'Geet Govinda'. Ashtapadi is a depiction of Radha's distressed state of mind due to separation from Krishna.

That was followed by Shiv Stuti and the Varanasi gharana's Kathak by Jitendra Maharaj's disciples Nalini and Kamalini, who are sisters. The programme concluded with an Odissi performance by Bhopal's Bindu Juneja who began with Shiv Vandana.

8,000 voters' names missing from voting list: Mohanbhai

Rajkot, Mar 1 (UNI) Former Deputy Mayor of Rajkot Municipal Corporation Mohanbhai Sojitra has alleged that as many as 8,000 to 10,000 voters' names are missing from the voters list and has written a letter to the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Chairperson Sonia Gandhi seeking immediate rectification of the same. In the letter to Gandhi, Sojitra alleged apart from the missing names from the electoral list of Rajkot district, published recently by District Electoral Authority, there were other discrepancies like misspelt.....

Pakistanis had held 1040 Indian fishermen in last 3 years: Chudasma

Gandhinagar, Mar 1 (UNI) Pakistani Coast Guards have, in the last three years, apprehended as many as 1040 Indian fishermen, while they were fishing in the deep sea, state Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasma today revealed in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. Adopt water preservation policies: Water Res. Minister

Ranchi, Mar 1 (UNI) Jharkhand Water Resources Minister Kamlesh Singh today stressed the need to adopt water preservation schemes to maintain the envioranmental chain. Addressing a gathering, after laying the foundation of a rooftop water harvesting at the Central Library premises of Ranchi University here, Mr Singh said preservation of the existing water resources and rain water was essential, as the water level in Jharkhand was decreasing by four inches every year.
