Internal groupism defeated Congress: Lalu

Patna, Mar 1: Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today said anti- incumbency factor worked in Uttarakhand and Punjab where secular party lost seats to the saffron brigade.

Mr Prasad told newspersons here that internal groupism within the Congress was also a major factor for the defeat of the party in the assembly elections completed recently.

Congress performed well in the rural areas of both the states whereas in the urban area the performance of BJP was better, he added.

Patna, Dec 18: In the much-awaited judgment on the Disproportionate Asset case, the CBI special court today acquitted Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi, observing that the prosecution had failed to prove its charges.
