Centre effects minor bureaucratic reshuffle

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) The Centre today effected a minor reshuffle in the bureaucracy belonging to the 1973-76 batch of Indian Administrative Service (IAS).

Accordingly, Mr R S Sirohi (MP Cadre 1974 batch) will be the new Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Home Affairs. He is at present Additional Secretary in charge of Border Management in the same ministry.

Mr A E Ahmed (Manipur-Tripura Cadre, 1976 batch) has been appointed in place of Mr Sirohi.

Mrs Sheela Nair ( Tamil Nadu; 1973 batch) will be the new Secretary in the Department of Drinking Water Supply in the Ministry of Rural Development.

Mr Rahul Sarin (Jharkhand, 1974 batch) has been posted as the Additional Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training under the Ministry of Personnel in the post vacated by Mr Brahm Dutt.

Mr Shashi Kant Sharma ( Bihar cadre 1976 batch) will be the Additional Secretary in the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances.

Mr R H Khwaja (AP, 1976) will be the Additional Secretary in Ministry of Environment&Forests. Mrs Veena Upadhyaya would continue to be Additional Secretary in the Ministry of E&F.

Ms Jayati Chandra (UP, 1975) will be the new Adviser in the planning commission Mr S L Bhat (J&K: 1976)is to be the Additional Secretary in the Department of agriculture and Cooperation.

Mr A K Khurana, (UP 1976) and Mr Anil Kumar (Nagaland, 1976) will be Additional Secretaries in the Ministry of Power.

Youth arrested for making sleazy calls to CM's security officer

Surat, Mar 8 (UNI) A youth was arrested here for making sleazy calls to the residence of a security officer of Haryana chief Minister and handed over to Haryana police. According to the police, the youth was arrested yesterday and has been identified as Brijendra Prajapati (18), a resident of Keshav Nagar Society in Umragam. Speaker to convene meeting of Karnataka, TN MPs on Cauvery

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee will meet MPs from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to discuss ways to allow a ''structured debate'' on the final order of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal (CWDT). Twenty live cartridges found in dustbin in Mumbai

Mumbai, Mar 8 (UNI) City police have found 20 live cartridges from a dustbin near Scope Garden road, Malabar Hill area in south Mumbai. Police sources said Karansingh Mohansingh Dostogi (36), a ragpicker, informed the Malabar Hill police of seeing a suspicious plastic bag inside a dustbin last night. On searching the place, a police team led by PSI A Jadhav found 20 live cartridges coated with silver and copper materials. There was a mark, 'KYMCH 7.65' on the bag,.....
