Mysore, Mar 1 (UNI) The Karnataka Government will soon take serious steps regarding the final award of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal and fight for justice and the interest of the State, Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said today.

Speaking to media persons here, he said the award had rendered ''injustice'' to the State and its farmers, particularly in the Cauvery basin districts of Mysore, Mandya and Chamarajanagar. The Government had discussed the issue with all the parties and members of Parliament from the State. It was now consulting legal experts in New Delhi, he added.

Mr Yediyurappa said the State Government had the option of filing a review petition before the Tribunal or appealing in court. But, the State would take a decision only after taking all the parties and farmers' organisations into confidence, he assured.

''At any cost, the State will not lose its share of waters,'' he declared, thanking the agitators for maintaining peace.

Meanwhile, the agitation against the verdict in the Cauvery basin districts entered the 25th day.

In Mandya, protests continued at Maddur, Shivapura, Mandya, Pandavapura, K R Pet and Srirangapatna, with farmers and other organisations taking out processions. The relay hunger strike by the Cauvery Hitarakshana Samithi continued at Mandya, Pandavapura, K R Pet and Srirangapatna.

In Mysore city, a procession was taken out by women's organisations and the Cauvery Kriya Samithi members sat in a dharna.

The agitation also continued in Chamarajanagar district.
