BSNL ties-up with RNSB

Rajkot, Mar 1 (UNI) With 'swadeshi' concept, The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Rajkot Nagarik Sahakari Bank (RNSB) today signed for mobile connections of bank's 2.5 lakh share holders.

Addressing mediapersons here, the Chairman of the Bank Kalpak Maniar said, perhaps, for the first time in India, the co-operative bank has signed with BSNL for such connections with an aim to provide this facilities to their share holders in the region with Closed Used Group (CUG) facility on mass scale.

The BSNL's Gujarat Circle Chief General Manager Satya Paul said ''It was great satisfaction to provide mobile telecom services to the Bank Share holders at a very affordable rate. BSNL has extended the CUG facility to all post-paid and pre-paid Bank members.'' He said, under the scheme, for the post-paid mobile customers, monthly rent is Rs 141.

The scheme allows subscribers to talk with members without any charge while with other BSNL's Subscribers, they have to pay 30 paise per minute and to call on BSNL land line phones and other service provider companies, the members would charge 45 paise per minute, the CGM said.

Under the pre-paid scheme, members would get free incoming call for one year and would get Rs 200 talk time, he said.

The CGM said ''BSNL is a national telecom service provider and is committed to provide telecome services to the people in every segment of the society.'' He said transparency is built in our system becasue our policies are to serve the people within affordable tariffs and said the money spent by the people of India for availing the services of BSNL remains in our Country.

After signing the agreement, on the first day, three connections have been provided to the chairman of the bank and two other officials.

Sensex recovers by 221.46 pts, closes firm at 13,159.55

Mumbai, Mar 1 (UNI) The Sensex recovered by 221.46 points on the Bombay Stock Exchange today and ended on a firm level at 13,159.55 points, buoyed by an upsurge in the US capital markets and recovery in key Indian ADRs. Among key Indian ADRs, HDFC Bank's ADR jumped 5 per cent to USD 66.36 and ICICI Bank's ADR rose almost 5 per cent to USD 38.36. Cement manufacturers ignore FM's advice, raise cement price

Mumbai, Mar 1 (UNI) The cement manufacturers in western and northern parts of the country have today raised the cement price by Rs 12 per 50 kilogram bag.
