BEL bags defence order worth Rs 550 crore

Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, March 1 (UNI) The Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) here has bagged Rs 550 crore worth order from Defence Ministry and Border Security Force (BSF) for supply of Hand Held Thermal Imagers.

A BEL spokesperson today said though defence supply remained the prime focus, the company had supplied Electronic Voting Machines, Solar Powered LED -based Traffic Signal Lights, TV and Radio broadcast system, telecom equipment and Set Top Boxes.

He said the company in its kitty had an order valued at Rs 32 crore from Zee Group's Wire and Wireless India Limited (WWIL) to supply two lakh Set Top Boxes.

In addition to Set Top Boxes(STBs), the BEL manufactures DTH equipments also, he added.

Hutch launches billing services in 10 languages

Chennai, Mar 1 (UNI) Telecom major Hutch today launched billing services in Tamil, along with nine other languages. This is yet another first from the company, aimed at providing more customer friendly billing services. A company statement said here that Hutch customers could now receive their bills in ten different languages -- Tamil, English, Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati and Malayalam. Hutch customers could call the Hutch Care Helpline 111 and request for bills in Tamil.....

BG India signs Prod'n Sharing Contract for KG Basin block with ONGC

Mumbai, Mar 2 (UNI) BG Exploration and Production India Ltd (BGEPIL) and Oil& Natural Gas Corporation(ONGC) today signed a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) with the Centre for Block KG-OSN-2004/1, which was awarded in the recent NELP VI licensing round. BGEPIL has a 45 percent interest in the block along with partner ONGC, which holds a 55 percent interest and operatorship, said a BG press release. Australian Trade Minister for more business ties with India

Mumbai, Mar 2 (UNI) Australian Minister of Trade Mr Warren Truss today said there is a new dynamism in Australia-India relations and a tremendous scope for strengthening the business relationship further between the two countries. Mr Truss, who is leading a business delegation from his country to India, was addressing a meeting of businesspersons held by the Bombay Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
