Armed dacoits rob train passengers

Varanasi, Mar 1 (UNI) Armed dacoits assaulted and robbed passengers of a Sicundarabad-bound train near Dhina railway station of neighbouring Chandauli district early today.

Government railway police sources said here at least six armed dacoits boarded S-8 and S-9 reserved compartments of the Patna-Sicundarabad Express at Buxar railway station in Bihar.

As the train left for Mughalsarai station, the dacoits started attacking the passengers and robbed them of their valuables.

Passengers, who tried to resist, were beaten with the pistol butts. After committing the crime, the dacoits deboarded the train near Karmanasa river.

The matter came to light, when the train reached Mughalsarai railway station in Chandauli district. A case has been registered and investigations were on.

PIL against UP chief secretary, DGP dismissed

Lucknow, Mar 1 (UNI) Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court today dismissed a PIL seeking the removal of 52 government servants, including Uttar Pradesh chief secretary Naveen Chandra Bajpai and DGP Bua Singh. The court dismissed the petition -- filed on February 23 by Satyam Maurya -- by terming it not-maintainable and remarked such petitions are filed to earn name and have little public welfare motive. Besides, the PIL had made the Central government, UP government, Samajwadi Party and Election Commission.....

Tekchandani to take charge, after RAK Airways sacks CEO

Dubai, Feb 28 (UNI) An Indian national will take charge as the new head of fledgling RAK Airways, the UAE's fourth national airline, after it sacked its chief executive officer Jack Romero, news reports said. ''Jack Romero did not quit the company but was terminated,'' explained Dr Khater Massaad, Managing Director and one of the board members of RAK Airways, adding he was unable to deliver on what was expected of him.
