Anil Sardana appointed as executive director in Tata Power

Kolkata, Mar 01 (UNI) The Tata Power Company Limited today announced the appointment of Anil K Sardana as Executive Director with effect from March one.

Prior to this assignment, Mr Sardana was the Managing Director of North Delhi Power Limited(NDPL), an associate company of Tata Power for power distribution in New Delhi.

He received the Asian&South Pacific Utilities Associated CEO of the year award 2005 and Asian Power CEO of the year 2006 award announced by the Asian Power journal, Singapore.

An electrical engineer with 27 years of professional experience in power industry, Mr Sardana has previously worked with NTPC and BSES ltd.

Tata Power is India's largest private sector power utility with an installed generation capacity of over 2300 mw.

TVS sales up 10 pc at 1,20,110 units

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) TVS Motors today said its February two-wheeler sales rose by 10 per cent to 1,20,110 units from 1,08,923 units during the same period last year. The motorcycle sales stood at 70,155 units compared to 66,391 units in February 2006, registering a growth of six per cent while sales of scooterettes rose 24 per cent to 19,937 units from 16,052 units. The company's exports too increased 33 per cent to 8,017 vehicles in February 2007......

Airtel reduces rental on Blackberry to Rs 249/month

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Bharti Airtel today slashed the fixed monthly rental for BlackBerry to Rs 249 per month from Rs 1,099 per month. As per the new plan, Airtel BlackBerry users will be charged Rs 0.15 per Kb of usage, apart from the fixed monthly rental. Hero Honda Feb sales up 12 pc

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Country's largest motorcycle maker Hero Honda Motors Ltd has posted a 12 per cent increase in its February sales at 2,80,515 units, as against 2,50,695 units sold during the corresponding period last year. Ford Feb sales up 27.5 pc at 3,856 units

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Ford India registered a 27.5 per cent growth in its February sales at 3,856 units, as against 3,023 units during the same period last year. For the period January-February 2007, the company sold 8,479 units in comparison to 8,196 units during the same period last year, up 3.5 per cent. UNI.....
